In the interim I sent a support ticket to Bethesda, but I doubt I'll hear anything from then within the next decade.īefore someone asks, here is my system information: Interestingly, whenever I try launching the game I get the windows pop-up message. I think the problem might have to do with my laptop GPU (An Nvidia RTX 2080 Super Max Q), because when I started up the game for the first time the launcher tried to retrieve my video card information, couldn't find anything, and automatically set my settings on low (even though this card could run the game on ultra without breaking a sweat).īethesda's support website has a page about how Fallout 4 might not recognize laptop GPUs, so I followed the instructions and used Nvidia control panel to set my GPU to be used in Fallout 4 to the RTX 2080. I even tried downloading the unofficial fallout 4 patch (and nothing else) from NMM to see if that was magically fix the problem- it didn't. I'm running the most up to date version of Windows 10. I can still hear the title screen music in the background, and if I move my mouse cursor around I can hear the title screen SFX for when you hover over play and the other options. When I launch the game, I am met with a black screen. ![]() ![]() So, I recently picked up a new laptop, the advanced model of the 2020 Razer Blade 15, and downloaded Fallout 4.
